Oral Chlamydia
Oral chlamydia works much like oral gonorrhea — a throat infection acquired through oral sex — but tends to be even quieter, symptom-wise.
What it looks like, when it looks like anything
Most cases of oral chlamydia cause no symptoms at all. On the occasions symptoms do show up, they're typically mild — some throat discomfort, maybe hoarseness — easy to write off as a minor cold, especially since it doesn't usually come with the more dramatic symptoms people associate with an STD.
Testing
A throat swab, not a routine urine or blood test, is what's needed to identify oral chlamydia specifically. It's worth requesting this specifically if you've had oral sex with a new partner and are getting a broader STD panel, since it isn't always included by default. Treatment is a standard course of antibiotics, the same as genital chlamydia.
